Pedagogy (Primary Wing)

‘Pedagogy is truly a craft. It is an art and requires us to be attentive to it.’--Michael Benitez

Bosco believes in following the paths of conducive techniques to help students achieve learning outcomes and broadening their horizons so that their world encompasses the whole of mankind.

Our aim is to deliver quality education with pedagogy to nurture our students to realise their own potential and achieve their own goals. We focus on guiding them to become contented individuals whose strength lies in their ability to face adversities without fear and overcome challenges with confidence.

A well-structured pedagogy can enhance both the teaching and the learning process that help students to achieve deeper and valuable learning.

Competency Based Learning

Competency Based Learning focuses on the holistic development of learners. With this learning approach, learners acquire knowledge and develop skills at their pace and apply them to real-life situations.

Joyful Learning

A joyful learning excites and empowers the students to engage with learning experiences in a fun-filled, playful manner. It engages learners actively and infuses enthusiasm and joy through activities in the form of games, stories, role plays, puzzles, hands on activities, songs and dance.

Constructivist Approach

This approach allows the learners to play a more active role in their learning and instils the sense of responsibility in them. The results and outcomes of this student- centered approach are very positive and help them build self-confidence.

Experiential learning

Experiential learning focuses on learners reflecting on their experience of doing something, so as to gain conceptual insight as well as practical expertise. Experiential learning theory is viewed as a holistic integrative perspective of learning.

Project-Based Learning

The learners complete interesting projects which help them acquire knowledge, research, think critically, evaluate, analyse, make decisions, collaborate and create. Projects help the students relate to the real world problems and develop many useful skills.

Inquiry Based Approach

An active learning process that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios. It is about igniting curiosity as students take charge of asking the questions they want to explore.

Flipped Classroom

An engaging approach where students are the active participants and help students learn at their own pace as well as think critically and collaborate with their classmates.

Cooperative Learning

This educational approach involves students working together to accomplish shared goals. It fosters positive interdependence and social skills among the students.

Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning is the process of learning by doing. It engages students in hands-on experiences and reflection so that they are able to connect theories and knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations.

Storytelling

Storytelling fosters the imagination and creates a sense of connection and builds curiosity. It encourages students to explore their unique expressiveness and heightens the learner’s ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in an articulate, lucid manner.

Gamification

Gamification is about transforming the classroom environment and regular activities into a game. This educational approach engages and promotes learning and deepen learners’ understanding of the concepts.

The pedagogies are designed and implemented to create ‘Happy Classrooms’ which aim at encouraging students to express their views, share experiences and reflect on their emotions.
